Job Description
Are you an experienced security professional with a proven track record in leading and managing security teams? Lavington Security is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Security Supervisor to oversee our guard management operations in the vibrant Mathare, Nairobi area. This is a critical role for an individual who is passionate about maintaining high security standards, fostering team excellence, and ensuring operational efficiency.
As an Experienced Security Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of our on-site security operations, directly responsible for the deployment, supervision, training, and performance management of our dedicated security guards. You will be tasked with implementing robust security protocols, responding swiftly and effectively to all security incidents, conducting regular and thorough patrols, and ensuring all personnel adhere strictly to company policies and client-specific requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of security guards, ensuring unwavering adherence to Lavington Security’s comprehensive policies, procedures, and client-specific protocols.
- Develop and implement detailed guard schedules, ensuring optimal coverage, efficient deployment, and effective resource allocation across designated sites in Mathare, Nairobi.
- Conduct regular, thorough inspections and patrols to proactively monitor guard performance, assess site security, and identify potential vulnerabilities or breaches.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, coordinating seamlessly with relevant authorities and internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and incident reports, maintaining accurate, detailed records of all activities, observations, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Conduct on-the-job training and refresher courses for security personnel on various security protocols, advanced equipment usage, and critical emergency procedures.
- Manage and resolve conflicts or disciplinary issues among team members, fostering a positive, professional, and high-performance work environment.
- Liaise effectively and regularly with clients to understand their evolving security needs, provide constructive feedback, and ensure utmost satisfaction with our services.
- Ensure proper functioning, routine checks, and preventive maintenance of all security equipment, including CCTV systems, access control mechanisms, and communication devices.
- Implement and rigorously enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all security personnel under your supervision.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in security operations, with at least 2 years specifically in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and exceptional team management capabilities, with a focus on motivation and performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in advanced security protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and comprehensive incident management.
- Ability to proficiently operate and monitor complex CCTV systems and other modern security technology platforms.
- Sound knowledge of emergency response procedures, crisis management, and certified in basic first aid.
- High level of integrity, unwavering professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Criminology, Security Management, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Certification in professional security training (e.g., ASIS CPP, PSP, or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Former experience in law enforcement, military security services, or a similar structured security environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and scheduling).
- Valid driving license with a clean record and experience driving within Nairobi.
