Job Description

As a Remote Data Integration Analyst at Exact Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data landscape, working from anywhere to support our critical mission of conquering cancer. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and integration solutions that connect various internal and external data sources. This includes ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility across our enterprise systems, which is critical for driving analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency throughout the organization. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence developers, and various business stakeholders across research, development, commercial, and operational teams to understand their diverse data needs and translate them into effective technical solutions. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of data integration principles, ETL processes, and database technologies. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver life-changing diagnostic solutions to patients faster and more efficiently, enabling data-driven decision-making at every level of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data integration solutions using ETL/ELT tools and scripting.
  • Work with various data sources, including relational databases, APIs, cloud-based platforms, and flat files, to extract, transform, and load data into target systems.
  • Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to define data models, schemas, and integration strategies that align with enterprise data governance standards.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all integrated data sets through comprehensive testing, validation, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data pipelines, data flows, mapping specifications, and system configurations.
  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and continuously seek opportunities to optimize data processes and tools.
  • Stay current with emerging data integration technologies, tools, and methodologies to drive innovation within the team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in designing and implementing data integration solutions and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency with SQL and extensive experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Experience with at least one enterprise-grade ETL tool (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for data manipulation and automation.
  • Experience with API integrations and web services (REST/SOAP).
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or prior experience in the biotechnology/healthcare industry.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies and practices.
