As a Pharmacist with a dual focus, you will manage day-to-day dispensary operations, overseeing the accurate dispensing of prescriptions, providing expert advice on medicines, and conducting medication reviews. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and safely dispense prescriptions in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Provide comprehensive medication counselling to patients, ensuring understanding of use, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews (e.g., NMS, MURs) to optimize patient outcomes and adherence.
- Deliver a range of clinical services, including vaccinations (flu, travel), minor ailment schemes, and health checks.
- Manage and oversee dispensary operations, including stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff (dispensers, accuracy checking technicians, counter assistants).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical advancements, regulations, and best practices.
- Actively participate in health promotion initiatives and public health campaigns.
- Resolve complex patient queries and provide expert advice on over-the-counter medications.
- Ensure compliance with all GPhC standards, company policies, and relevant legislation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or Master of Pharmacy degree (MPharm)
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience as a Pharmacist in a UK community pharmacy setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient counselling skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and IT systems
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Experience in delivering enhanced clinical services (e.g., travel clinics, smoking cessation)
