Key Responsibilities
- Assist delivery drivers with the safe, timely, and efficient loading and careful unloading of various merchandise onto and from delivery vehicles.
- Accurately verify all delivered items against corresponding invoices, manifests, and order sheets to ensure complete and correct deliveries.
- Ensure proper handling, secure packing, and stable transport of all goods to meticulously prevent damage, spoilage, or loss during transit.
- Proactively assist drivers with route navigation, utilizing maps or GPS, and providing clear directions as needed to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction, maintaining a consistently positive, professional, and courteous attitude.
- Communicate effectively and clearly with customers, delivery drivers, and internal warehouse/store staff regarding delivery status, potential delays, or any arising issues.
- Rigorously adhere to all relevant traffic laws, road safety regulations, and stringent company policies and procedures at all times.
- Actively contribute to maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of delivery vehicles.
- Promptly report any discrepancies, product damages, customer feedback, or operational issues to supervisors.
- Undertake additional warehouse, stocking, or store-related duties as assigned during periods of non-delivery or as operational needs dictate.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated physical strength and stamina necessary to regularly lift and carry packages weighing up to 25kg.
- Proven ability to perform effectively and efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced, and physically active work environment.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Highly reliable and punctual, possessing a strong and dedicated work ethic.
- Basic communication proficiency in English and/or Sesotho.
- Exceptional attention to detail for precise order verification and error prevention.
- Consistently positive attitude and a genuine customer-focused approach.
- Capacity to meticulously follow instructions and work autonomously when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a delivery, logistics, warehouse, or customer-facing retail environment.
- Familiarity with the geographical areas and common routes within Quthing District.
- A valid driver's license (Code B or higher) is an advantageous asset, though not a strict requirement for a helper role.
- Completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
