Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of vessels, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
- Manage and optimize warehouse layout and storage capacity for various cargo types.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
- Operate and supervise the use of port and warehouse equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and reach stackers.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and security regulations.
- Communicate effectively with vessel masters, port authorities, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of cargo movements, manifests, and equipment logs.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions swiftly to minimize disruptions.
- Schedule and manage personnel shifts, assigning tasks to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, reporting maintenance needs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in port operations and/or warehouse management.
- Strong understanding of maritime logistics and supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in operating heavy lifting equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes).
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations within port/warehouse environments.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
