Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Lighting Designer & Stage Setup Specialist to join our vibrant team in Westlands, Nairobi. This role demands a blend of artistic vision, technical prowess, and hands-on execution. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the ambiance and visual impact of our diverse projects, from high-profile corporate events and dynamic concerts to intricate theatrical productions and immersive installations.

As a key member of our production crew, you will translate conceptual ideas into captivating lighting designs, ensuring optimal aesthetic and functional illumination for every stage and venue. This involves everything from initial client consultations and conceptualization, through detailed technical drawings and equipment specification, to the precise physical setup, programming, and operation of lighting systems. You will work closely with event planners, creative directors, sound engineers, and stage managers to integrate lighting seamlessly with other production elements, creating cohesive and breathtaking visual experiences.

Your day-to-day could involve designing a sophisticated lighting plot for a corporate launch at a five-star hotel, meticulously programming intelligent fixtures for a live music festival, or ensuring the dramatic impact of a theatrical scene. We expect you to be a proactive problem-solver, adept at troubleshooting on-site challenges and adapting designs in real-time while maintaining strict safety standards. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of lighting production, from pre-visualization using industry-standard software to post-event breakdown and equipment maintenance.
