Job Description

This role is for an experienced and passionate Gardener to join our dedicated Landscaping & Grounds Care team in Radford, Nottingham. We are seeking an individual who takes immense pride in their work, possesses a deep understanding of horticulture, and is committed to maintaining high-quality outdoor environments. As a Gardener at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in ensuring our clients’ grounds, gardens, and communal green spaces are consistently presented to an exceptional standard. From seasonal planting and pruning to turf management and hard landscaping maintenance, your skills will directly impact the aesthetic appeal and ecological health of various sites across our portfolio. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of horticultural tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and watering.
  • Maintain lawns and turf areas, including mowing, edging, scarifying, and fertilising.
  • Ensure the upkeep of hard landscaping features such as paths, patios, and fences.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of garden machinery and tools safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers).
  • Identify and treat plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Carry out seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting, and snow removal when required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and report any issues or necessary repairs on grounds and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in professional gardening or grounds maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of horticulture, plant identification, and soil types.
  • Proficiency in operating garden machinery and tools safely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong physical fitness and stamina for demanding outdoor work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Horticulture or related field.
  • PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
  • Experience with advanced landscaping techniques.
  • First Aid certification.
