In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, working alongside experienced dentists and hygienists to deliver top-tier dental care. Your daily responsibilities will span from preparing the surgery and ensuring strict cross-infection control to providing crucial chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including routine check-ups, restorative treatments, and cosmetic dentistry. You will play a key role in making our patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit, acting as a friendly and reassuring presence. Beyond clinical support, you will manage accurate patient records, assist with stock control, and contribute to the smooth, efficient running of the practice. Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient chairside assistance to dentists and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the dental surgery, ensuring all equipment is sterilised and ready for use.
- Maintain strict cross-infection control standards in accordance with GDC guidelines.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide support throughout their dental experience.
- Accurately update and maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Assist with the management of dental stock and ordering supplies.
- Develop and process dental X-rays as required (if qualified).
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the practice.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Required Skills
- Valid GDC registration as a Dental Nurse.
- Relevant Dental Nurse qualification (e.g., NEBDN Diploma).
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in a dental practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in dental software and general IT skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional qualifications in radiography, sedation, or oral health education.
- Experience with specialist dental procedures (e.g., implants, orthodontics).
- Up-to-date with CPD requirements.
