Job Description
Nyakundi & Company Advocates is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal with a strong focus on corporate legal support to join our dynamic team in Kisii County, Kenya. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on corporate law matters.
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, contracts, agreements, and corporate resolutions.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory documents with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., Registrar of Companies).
- Support due diligence processes for corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Maintain and organize corporate records, legal databases, and client files with utmost accuracy and confidentiality.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other external parties as directed by advocates.
- Manage and track deadlines for corporate compliance, renewals, and filings.
- Provide administrative support to the corporate legal team, including scheduling and correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of board meeting minutes and corporate governance documents.
- Stay abreast of changes in corporate law and regulatory requirements in Kenya.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on corporate law.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan corporate law and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent legal research skills using both online and offline resources.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of computer literacy, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
