Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure comprehensive compliance with relevant anti-discrimination laws (e.g., AGG – Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz in Germany) and internal DEI guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and impartial advisor for employees regarding questions, concerns, or complaints related to equal opportunity, harassment, and discrimination, ensuring confidentiality and trust.
  • Conduct thorough, objective, and confidential investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, providing fair, timely, and well-documented resolutions.
  • Provide expert guidance and strategic recommendations to management and HR on best practices for fostering an inclusive workplace, including equitable recruitment, promotion, and talent development processes.
  • Design and deliver engaging and impactful training programs on diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-discrimination for all employees, management, and leadership.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends, potential disparities, and areas for improvement in equal opportunity outcomes, using insights to inform strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare regular, detailed reports on DEI initiatives, compliance efforts, incident resolutions, and overall progress for senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay continuously abreast of developments in equal opportunity legislation, global best practices, and industry trends to proactively enhance and adapt our DEI strategy.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Leadership, Employee Councils) to integrate DEI principles into all organizational processes, policies, and strategic planning.
  • Act as a visible and passionate champion for diversity and inclusion, promoting a respectful, welcoming, and psychologically safe environment for all employees.
  • Support the development of accessible workplaces and facilitate reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities, ensuring full compliance and support.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in an Equal Opportunity, HR, Compliance, or Legal role with a demonstrable focus on anti-discrimination and DEI initiatives.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of German anti-discrimination law (AGG – Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz) and other pertinent German labor laws.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in conducting sensitive, impartial, and confidential investigations into workplace complaints.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and mediation skills, with a proven ability to build trust, manage conflict, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex legal frameworks and applying them to practical workplace situations.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver effective, engaging, and impactful training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in both German and English, excellent written and spoken communication skills in both languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in DEI, HR management, labor law, or related legal studies.
  • Experience working in a multinational, multicultural, or large corporate environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Familiarity with broader EU anti-discrimination directives and international best practices in DEI.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS) and data analytics tools to track and report on DEI metrics.
  • Certifications in mediation, conflict resolution, or DEI leadership.
