Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Court Preparation & Research to join our dynamic legal team in Sandy Row, Belfast. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using various databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) to support ongoing cases and court submissions.
- Prepare, organize, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, exhibits, and discovery responses.
- Assist in the preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions, including drafting witness lists, exhibit logs, and trial binders.
- Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and other discovery materials.
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel to gather information and schedule appointments.
- Maintain and update case files, ensuring all information is accurate, accessible, and compliant with firm and legal standards.
- Draft correspondence and other legal communications under the supervision of an attorney.
- Assist with legal billing, including tracking time and expenses related to specific cases.
- Ensure strict adherence to court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Paralegal, legal assistant, or similar role with a focus on litigation.
- Strong proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Solid understanding of court rules, procedures, and legal terminology.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Experience with electronic filing systems in Northern Ireland or UK courts.
- Familiarity with various practice areas, particularly civil litigation or criminal law.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
