Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene, maintaining their dignity and privacy at all times.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safety.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration, and respecting individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Engage residents in social activities, therapeutic exercises, and recreational programs to promote mental and physical stimulation and overall well-being.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical condition, behavior, or mood to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for residents, including tidying rooms and common areas.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, listening actively and responding with empathy and kindness.
- Assist with laundry duties and ensure residents have clean clothing and linens.
- Document care provided and observations accurately and consistently in accordance with facility policies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and facility procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care-giving role (e.g., care home, hospital, home care).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles and infection control.
- Physical stamina to assist with mobility and perform duties requiring standing, bending, and lifting.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Fluent in Swahili (essential for local communication).

- Certificate in Home Care, Nursing Assistant (NA), or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
