Fidelity Services Group, South Africa’s largest private security service provider, is seeking a dedicated Police Officer for its elite Security Department in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of designated areas, both physical and electronic, to detect and deter security threats.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including security breaches, medical emergencies, and fire alarms.
- Enforce company security policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance among all personnel and visitors.
- Investigate security incidents, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and compile detailed and accurate incident reports.
- Operate and monitor advanced CCTV systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.
- Provide visible deterrent by maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
- Liaise effectively with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other external agencies when necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, infrastructure, and access points.
- Provide first aid and emergency assistance as required, in accordance with training.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security or law enforcement role.
- Valid PSIRA Grade A or B certification.
- Strong understanding of South African security legislation and best practices.
- Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, with strong report-writing abilities.
- Ability to operate and interpret information from security surveillance systems.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform duties that may require extended periods of standing, walking, and potential physical intervention.
- Valid South African driver's license.
- Clean criminal record and clear credit history.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
- Advanced first aid and fire fighting certifications.
- Experience with K9 units or specialized tactical response.
- Proficiency in additional South African languages (e.g., Afrikaans, isiXhosa).
- Certification in specific security technologies or systems.
