Key Responsibilities
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including group health, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability, and retirement plans.
- Process new hire enrollments, changes, and terminations for all benefit programs, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to vendors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, claims, and other related issues, providing clear and concise information.
- Coordinate with benefit vendors and brokers to resolve escalated employee issues and ensure effective plan administration.
- Conduct regular benefits orientation sessions for new employees and assist with annual open enrollment processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations related to benefits administration (e.g., privacy laws, employment standards).
- Maintain accurate employee benefit records and ensure data integrity in HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Assist in the preparation of benefits communications, plan summaries, and educational materials for employees.
- Support the HR team with other administrative tasks and special projects as required.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration or a similar HR role.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of employee benefits terminology, regulations, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CHRP/CPHR designation or in progress).
- Experience with a specific HRIS platform (e.g., Workday, ADP, BambooHR).
- Familiarity with benefits administration for a mid-sized to large organization.
