Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automated production equipment, including robotic cells, conveyor systems, and packaging machinery.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on complex automation systems.
- Program, modify, and fine-tune Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Calibrate sensors, actuators, and other instrumentation to ensure optimal system performance and accuracy.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&ID diagrams to facilitate effective troubleshooting and repairs.
- Implement software and hardware upgrades to existing automation systems for improved efficiency and reliability.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and system changes accurately and thoroughly.
- Provide technical support and training to production operators on the safe and efficient operation of automated equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and proposing innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development and troubleshooting
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
- Solid understanding of industrial robotics (e.g., ABB, KUKA, Fanuc)
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics)
- Familiarity with vision systems and servo drives
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, FMCG)
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
- Basic CAD software proficiency for reviewing system layouts
