Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, and operate sound systems for live events, studio recordings, and broadcast productions.
- Conduct pre-production planning, including microphone selection, signal routing, and acoustic treatment.
- Mix, master, and edit audio content for various projects, ensuring high-quality output.
- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of audio equipment (consoles, microphones, speakers, etc.).
- Collaborate with directors, producers, artists, and other technical staff to achieve desired sonic results.
- Manage sound budgets, equipment inventory, and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in audio engineering.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all sound operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Sound Engineer, Audio Engineer, or similar role.
- Expertise with professional audio equipment, mixing consoles (digital and analog), microphones, and PA systems.
- Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, or similar.
- Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, psychoacoustics, and audio theory.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for audio systems.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments (live events).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with an exceptional ear for sound quality and balance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Certification in specific audio software or hardware (e.g., Avid Pro Tools Certified User).
- Experience with live sound reinforcement and touring.
- Familiarity with video production workflows and post-audio synchronization.
- Knowledge of broadcast audio standards and regulations.
