Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs covering hazardous waste management, emergency response, and safety protocols.
- Learn to identify, classify, and properly handle various hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Assist in the safe containment, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with federal, provincial, and local regulations.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment for hazardous waste handling, including PPE, spill response kits, and monitoring devices.
- Conduct site assessments under supervision to evaluate potential hazards and determine appropriate response actions.
- Document all activities, observations, and waste profiles accurately and thoroughly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors during emergency response situations and routine operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of safety equipment and vehicles.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and reporting potential safety hazards or process inefficiencies.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Availability for occasional on-call shifts and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
