Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise alterations, repairs, and custom tailoring for a wide range of garments, including formal wear, casual clothing, and specialty items.
  • Conduct client fittings, taking accurate measurements and providing expert advice on styling and garment adjustments.
  • Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines, ensuring all equipment is in excellent working condition.
  • Handle delicate fabrics and intricate designs with the utmost care and attention to detail.
  • Manage a flexible work schedule effectively, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their complete satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Keep accurate records of client requests, measurements, and project progress.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of professional tailoring or alterations experience.
  • Proficiency in operating industrial and domestic sewing machines (single needle, overlock, buttonhole).
  • Expertise in various hand-stitching techniques and garment construction.
  • Strong understanding of fabric types, cutting, and draping.
  • Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret client specifications and translate them into precise alterations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or diploma from a recognized fashion design or tailoring program.
  • Experience with specialty garments like bridal wear or leather.
