Job Description
Career.zycto is partnering with an innovative electronics firm to find a highly skilled and passionate PCB Designer to join their team in Deering Center, Portland. This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to play a crucial role in the design and development of cutting-edge electronic products. As a PCB Designer, you will be instrumental in transforming complex electrical schematics into high-performance, manufacturable circuit board layouts, contributing directly to the physical realization of groundbreaking technology across various applications.
Your expertise will be vital in navigating the entire PCB design lifecycle, from initial concept and component selection through schematic capture, layout, routing, and preparing comprehensive manufacturing files. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, interacting closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet stringent performance, reliability, and cost targets. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of industry standards (e.g., IPC), and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
We are looking for someone who thrives on technical challenges, is proficient with modern CAD tools, and possesses a solid grasp of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. If you are passionate about bringing innovative electronic products to life, enjoy working on diverse projects, and are ready to advance your career with a forward-thinking company, we encourage you to apply. This full-time position offers the chance to contribute to impactful projects and grow your skills within a supportive and technically advanced setting.

- Design and layout multi-layer PCBs from concept to production, adhering to industry best practices and standards (IPC).
- Perform schematic capture, component library creation and management, and symbol generation.
- Conduct comprehensive layout planning, component placement, and routing for complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Implement design rules for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and testability (DFT).
- Analyze and mitigate signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues.
- Generate complete manufacturing documentation, including Gerber files, drill files, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to optimize designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in design reviews, provide technical input, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Stay current with new PCB design technologies, tools, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in PCB design and layout.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer, Eagle, or a similar industry-standard CAD tool.
- Strong understanding of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-7351).
- Experience with high-speed digital design, analog layout, power delivery networks (PDN), and RF considerations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DFM/DFA principles.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and integrate mechanical constraints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with PADS, Allegro, or KiCad.
- Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI).
- Experience in specific industries such as aerospace, medical devices, industrial automation, or telecommunications.
- Knowledge of scripting for design automation (e.g., Python, C#).
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive salary and performance bonuses.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
- Generous paid time off and holidays.
