As a CNC Machinist in our North Deering, Portland facility, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured, on-the-job training program to learn CNC machining fundamentals.
  • Operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) under supervision, producing parts to specifications.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products from machines.
  • Perform basic machine setup, including tool changes and fixture adjustments.
  • Monitor machine operation, identifying and reporting any issues or malfunctions.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production efficiency and quality.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting as trained.

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with machinery.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
  • Ability to read and interpret basic written instructions and diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
