As a CNC Machinist in our North Deering, Portland facility, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in a structured, on-the-job training program to learn CNC machining fundamentals.
- Operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) under supervision, producing parts to specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products from machines.
- Perform basic machine setup, including tool changes and fixture adjustments.
- Monitor machine operation, identifying and reporting any issues or malfunctions.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production efficiency and quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting as trained.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with machinery.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
- Ability to read and interpret basic written instructions and diagrams.
