Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our operations in Downtown Kitchener. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to manage all aspects of our warehouse facility, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Develop and implement warehouse layouts and material handling procedures to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and scheduling.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OHSA, WHMIS).
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
- Manage relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure seamless logistics and supply chain flow.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other machinery.
- Prepare regular reports on warehouse activities, performance, and forecasts for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse management or a similar logistics role.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices within a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience managing a warehouse of over 50,000 sq ft.
