Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered TESOL lessons for various proficiency levels (beginner to advanced) in accordance with the established curriculum.
  • Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and observations, providing constructive feedback to facilitate learning.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and cultural exchange.
  • Tailor teaching materials and methodologies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of international students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the academic team to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development workshops, staff meetings, and school events.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to students regarding their language learning journey and cultural adaptation to Canada.

Required Skills

  • Certified TESOL/TEFL/CELTA qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience teaching ESL/EFL to adults or young adults.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver dynamic and effective lesson plans.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to motivate students.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Linguistics, English, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching in a multicultural or international educational setting.
  • Familiarity with Canadian language benchmarks (CLB) or other international standards.
  • Experience with online teaching methodologies and blended learning models.
