Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered TESOL lessons for various proficiency levels (beginner to advanced) in accordance with the established curriculum.
- Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and observations, providing constructive feedback to facilitate learning.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and cultural exchange.
- Tailor teaching materials and methodologies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of international students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the academic team to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development workshops, staff meetings, and school events.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Provide guidance and support to students regarding their language learning journey and cultural adaptation to Canada.
Required Skills
- Certified TESOL/TEFL/CELTA qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience teaching ESL/EFL to adults or young adults.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver dynamic and effective lesson plans.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to motivate students.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Linguistics, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in a multicultural or international educational setting.
- Familiarity with Canadian language benchmarks (CLB) or other international standards.
