Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with the inspection, maintenance, calibration, and repair of various biomedical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on medical devices following established schedules and procedures.
  • Document all service and repair activities accurately and thoroughly in the equipment management system.
  • Learn to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes under supervision.
  • Participate in safety inspections and ensure adherence to all biomedical safety standards and regulations.
  • Support inventory management of parts and tools, ensuring proper stock levels and organization.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and stay updated on new technologies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent technical certification.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, mechanics, and medical terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or hands-on experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical or workshop setting.
  • CompTIA A+ or similar IT certifications.
