Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, integrating pharmacotherapy and various psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Provide ongoing psychiatric care, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in crisis intervention and management, offering timely support to patients in acute distress.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records in compliance with professional standards and regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in peer review and supervision.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the mental health service.
- Offer consultation to other healthcare professionals regarding complex psychiatric cases.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Specialty certification in Psychiatry (e.g., FRCPC or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in psychiatry.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of mental health disorders.
- Proficiency in pharmacotherapy management and various psychotherapeutic modalities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Strong ethical decision-making abilities and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications
- Sub-specialty training or experience in areas such as child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, or addiction psychiatry.
- Experience with telepsychiatry or other virtual care delivery models.
- Bilingualism (English and French, or other common languages in Winnipeg).
- Experience in community mental health settings.
