Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Addictions Counselor to join our dynamic team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, evaluations, and psychosocial histories to determine client needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (ITPs) with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
  • Educate clients and families on addiction, recovery processes, and available community resources.
  • Participate in case conferences, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current Michigan State licensure/certification (e.g., LLPC, LPC, LMSW, CAADC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse or addiction counseling.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, treatment planning, and delivering evidence-based therapies.
  • Strong understanding of addiction etiology, recovery models, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with diverse client populations and cultural sensitivities.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing.
