Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Addictions Counselor to join our dynamic team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, evaluations, and psychosocial histories to determine client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (ITPs) with measurable goals and objectives.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
- Educate clients and families on addiction, recovery processes, and available community resources.
- Participate in case conferences, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current Michigan State licensure/certification (e.g., LLPC, LPC, LMSW, CAADC).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse or addiction counseling.
- Proficiency in conducting assessments, treatment planning, and delivering evidence-based therapies.
- Strong understanding of addiction etiology, recovery models, and co-occurring disorders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diverse client populations and cultural sensitivities.
