Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic DJ to join our roster of talent for weddings and various private and corporate events throughout Whitney Pier, Sydney. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their musical preferences, event timelines, and specific requests.
- Curate and manage extensive music libraries suitable for a wide range of event types and demographics.
- Operate and troubleshoot professional audio and lighting equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Perform Master of Ceremonies (MC) duties as required, including making announcements and facilitating event flow.
- Set up and tear down DJ equipment safely and punctually at various venues.
- Engage with guests and adapt music selections in real-time to maintain an energetic and inviting atmosphere.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing Career.zycto with excellence.
- Ensure all necessary cables, microphones, and backup equipment are readily available and in working order.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a DJ for weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
- Expertise in operating professional DJ software (e.g., Serato DJ, Rekordbox, Virtual DJ) and hardware (e.g., Pioneer CDJs, turntables, mixers).
- Deep knowledge of music genres spanning multiple decades and cultures.
- Exceptional crowd-reading and musical selection abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues with audio equipment.
- Access to a professional DJ setup (equipment can sometimes be provided or supplemented).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in audio production or sound engineering.
- Experience with intelligent lighting systems and effects.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/French, English/Gaelic) is a plus.
- Existing professional network within the Sydney event industry.
- Ability to provide professional references and a portfolio/demo reel of past work.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for equipment transport.
