Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of tender, ensuring proper change and transaction reconciliation.
- Greet customers warmly, provide friendly service, and assist with inquiries or direct them to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking bags and ensuring promotional materials are visible.
- Scan items accurately, apply discounts, and process returns/exchanges in accordance with company policy.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and security.
- Answer customer questions about products, services, and current promotions with a polite and helpful demeanor.
- Assist in maintaining overall store cleanliness and presentation when required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive customer flow.
- Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Resolve minor customer complaints or escalate complex issues to management for resolution.
