Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
- Dust all surfaces, including desks, shelves, and equipment, ensuring a spotless appearance.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and common area tables.
- Clean and maintain kitchenettes or breakroom areas, including wiping down counters and appliances.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
- Ensure all assigned areas are locked and secured upon completion of the shift, if required.
Required Skills
- Proven reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality results
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods and chemical handling safety
- Effective time management skills to complete tasks efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in commercial or industrial cleaning
- Familiarity with various cleaning equipment and tools
- WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain it
- Ability to communicate effectively (read and understand instructions) in English or French
