Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our core data infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security. You will be instrumental in developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, managing our data warehousing solutions, and implementing best practices for data governance and quality. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms, big data technologies, and a passion for creating efficient and performant data systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand their data needs, provide solutions, and ensure our data infrastructure supports advanced analytics, machine learning initiatives, and real-time data processing. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern data orchestration tools.
- Manage, optimize, and expand our cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Implement and enforce data quality, governance, and security best practices across all data assets.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust data solutions.
- Monitor data infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Evaluate and integrate new data technologies and tools to improve efficiency and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, pipelines, and data models.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and scripting.
- Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
- Experience designing and building robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
