Job Description

Career.zycto is on the lookout for a talented and dedicated Azure Cloud Administrator to join our growing team in the vibrant Hillhead University Quarter, Glasgow. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and monitoring of our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and robust security. You will work closely with development and operations teams to implement scalable cloud solutions, automate routine tasks, and troubleshoot complex issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and other Azure resources.
  • Monitor Azure cloud environments for performance, security, and cost optimization, implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Implement and maintain Azure security best practices, including identity and access management (Azure AD), network security groups, and Azure policies.
  • Automate cloud operations and infrastructure deployments using Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Azure services, networking, and applications.
  • Manage Azure backups, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless application deployment and integration within Azure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on Azure-related matters.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and scaling activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Administrator or similar role (minimum 4 years).
  • Strong understanding of Azure core services (compute, networking, storage, databases).
  • Proficiency in Azure Active Directory, IAM, and security principles.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and Azure CLI.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VNETs).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes on Azure).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
