Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and analytical Threat Intelligence Analyst eager to make a significant impact in the fight against cyber threats? Career.zycto is actively seeking a talented individual to join our growing cybersecurity team in Middlesbrough. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of identifying, analyzing, and disseminating vital threat intelligence to protect our digital infrastructure and assets. You will leverage a range of advanced tools and methodologies to monitor global threat actors, emerging attack campaigns, and vulnerabilities, transforming raw data into actionable insights for our security operations, incident response, and strategic planning teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive collection, analysis, and interpretation of threat intelligence from various sources (OSINT, commercial feeds, dark web, internal telemetry).
  • Develop and maintain threat profiles for specific adversaries, campaigns, and malware families relevant to our industry.
  • Produce high-quality, actionable threat intelligence reports, briefings, and alerts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and Incident Response (IR) teams to enrich alerts, enhance detection capabilities, and support active investigations.
  • Monitor global cybersecurity events, geopolitical developments, and technological advancements to identify potential impacts on our organization.
  • Develop and implement robust intelligence requirements and collection plans based on organizational priorities and risk assessments.
  • Utilize threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) and security information and event management (SIEM) systems to manage and disseminate intelligence effectively.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our threat intelligence processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in threat hunting activities, leveraging intelligence to identify hidden threats within our networks.
  • Provide expert consultation on emerging threats and vulnerabilities to guide strategic security initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Threat Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the cyber kill chain, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and intelligence lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in threat intelligence tools and platforms (e.g., MISP, Anomali, Recorded Future).
  • Expertise in analyzing malware, network traffic, security logs, and forensic artifacts.
  • Familiarity with various intelligence sources (OSINT, deep/dark web, commercial feeds).
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis and automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCTI, CySA+, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated threat vectors.
  • Knowledge of specific industry-related threat landscapes.
  • Experience in reverse engineering malware or conducting advanced forensics.
