Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team in Auburn, Alabama. As a Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud-native platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across our entire technology stack. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using leading providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Develop and manage automated CI/CD pipelines for various applications, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible to provision and configure environments.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent outages.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to optimize application performance and ensure seamless integration with platform services.
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into our infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and respond to incidents.
  • Document system architecture, processes, and operational procedures to maintain knowledge transfer and consistency.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a Platform, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipeline implementation and management (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong version control skills with Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Knowledge of database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with event streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka).
