Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor ready to take on a challenging role with immediate impact? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and results-driven individual to join our project team in Thika, Kiambu County. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly work schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress against the project timeline.
  • Enforce strict health and safety regulations on site, conduct regular safety briefings, risk assessments, and ensure all personnel comply with safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
  • Manage and coordinate sub-contractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, identify non-conformances, and implement corrective actions to maintain high construction standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, material usage, and labor attendance.
  • Identify potential issues or delays and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
  • Liaise effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on site progress and challenges.
  • Oversee the proper storage, handling, and usage of materials and equipment on site.
  • Motivate, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to the site team to enhance performance and foster a positive working environment.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Site Supervisor in the construction industry, preferably in building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driving license and ability to commute to various site locations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in Project Management or Construction Management.
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
  • First Aid and Safety Officer certification.
  • Knowledge of local planning and building codes in Kenya.
  • Fluency in both English and Swahili.
