Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments, ensuring quality and quantity match purchase orders.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse and storage areas for optimal efficiency and safety.
- Prepare and dispatch outgoing orders, ensuring correct items are picked, packed, and loaded for delivery.
- Update inventory management systems with accurate data, including stock movements, receipts, and issues.
- Conduct regular physical inventories and reconcile findings with system records.
- Identify and report damaged, missing, or faulty items to management.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Collaborate with purchasing and sales departments to ensure smooth inventory flow and address stock-related inquiries.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Inventory Clerk or in a similar inventory management role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with specific inventory management systems common in Kenya (e.g., SAP, Odoo, or similar ERPs).
- Forklift certification or experience operating other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in a warehouse environment.
- Previous experience in a retail or distribution center setting with high SKU counts.
