This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in residents’ lives, ensuring safe, secure, and well-managed tenancies across the Heworth area.
As a Housing Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for tenants, responsible for a diverse portfolio of housing management duties. Your day-to-day will involve everything from processing new tenancy agreements and managing rent accounts to addressing complex resident concerns and fostering positive community relations. This pivotal role requires an individual who can balance compassion with firm decision-making, ensuring compliance with housing policies while providing essential support to those in need. You will play a critical part in maintaining high standards of living and promoting a sense of community pride within the council’s housing stock.
We are looking for someone with a robust understanding of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and social care pathways. You will be adept at de-escalating difficult situations, resolving disputes, and implementing solutions that benefit both tenants and the council.
