Job Description

This is an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to embark on a career in arboriculture as an Entry Level Tree Surgeon Assistant. As an Entry Level Tree Surgeon Assistant, you will work closely with experienced tree surgeons, learning the ropes of the trade through practical, on-site experience. Your days will be varied and spent outdoors, contributing to tasks ranging from routine pruning and felling to emergency tree work and site clearance. This hands-on position demands a strong work ethic, a keen willingness to learn, and the physical capability to handle challenging outdoor conditions, often involving heavy lifting and working in all weather. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified tree surgeons with all aspects of tree work, including pruning, felling, and planting.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up safety barriers and signage.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment under supervision (e.g., chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders).
  • Clear branches, brushwood, and other debris from work areas.
  • Assist with the safe handling and processing of timber and woodchip.
  • Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Support the team in emergency call-out situations as required.
  • Contribute to a positive and safe working environment.
