Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of civil engineering infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, delivering projects on schedule and within financial parameters.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations.
  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, environmental specialists, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to present designs and secure approvals.
  • Implement sustainable design principles and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Oversee construction activities and provide technical support during the build phase.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Strong understanding of UK civil engineering standards, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis, hydraulic design, and geotechnical principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE).

  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
