Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic client files, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality.
  • Assisting with legal research and compiling relevant information for case preparation and client advice.
  • Scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings, and managing complex calendars effectively.
  • Communicating professionally and courteously with clients, court personnel, and third parties via phone, email, and in person.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls, prioritizing urgent matters.
  • Preparing comprehensive bundles for court hearings and attending to general office administration tasks.
  • Assisting with billing, invoicing, and expense tracking to support financial operations.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all client and firm information.
  • Supporting solicitors and paralegals in all aspects of case management and project workflows.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative legal role (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document creation and management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, particularly document review.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Foundational understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy.
  • A-Levels or equivalent academic qualifications demonstrating strong literacy and analytical skills.
