Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive gas boiler installations, services, and repairs in residential and commercial properties.
  • Conduct thorough fault diagnosis and rectification on a variety of gas appliances and systems.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
  • Complete gas safety checks (CP12s) and issue relevant certification accurately.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs efficiently and effectively, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all Gas Safe Register regulations, health and safety guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Provide clear, professional advice and explanations to clients regarding work undertaken and system operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings.
  • Manage vehicle stock and equipment, ensuring availability for daily tasks.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers or apprentices as required, sharing expertise and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Gas Safe Registered (mandatory)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience as a Gas Engineer
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of domestic and commercial gas boilers and appliances
  • Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and legislation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving license

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1, MET1
  • Experience with unvented hot water systems (G3 qualification)
  • Knowledge of commercial gas appliances and systems
  • Experience with smart heating controls and smart home technology
  • First Aid certification
  • IPAF or PASMA certification
