Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to residents during night hours, adhering to individual care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and toileting, while promoting independence.
- Administer medication as per prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct regular welfare checks and observations throughout the night, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Respond promptly to calls for assistance and emergencies, following established protocols.
- Maintain clear and accurate daily records, including progress notes and incident reports.
- Support residents with mobility and repositioning to prevent pressure sores.
- Ensure the environment remains clean, tidy, and safe for all residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and colleagues.
- Report any changes in a resident's condition or behaviour to the senior staff immediately.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred but not essential (full training provided)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Reliability and punctuality for night shifts
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- First Aid certification
- Experience with medication administration
- Understanding of safeguarding principles
