Career.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Attendants for night shift roles across Toronto, Ontario. This vital position involves providing essential support and care to clients in their homes or residential settings during overnight hours, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a Night Shift PCA, you will be the guardian of peace and comfort, offering assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, medication reminders, and light household tasks as needed. Your keen observation skills will be crucial for monitoring changes in client condition, responding promptly, and documenting observations accurately. We seek individuals with a calm demeanor, exceptional reliability, and a genuine desire to provide respectful, person-centered care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered care during overnight hours, assisting with personal hygiene (e.g., bathing, dressing, toileting).
- Assist clients with safe transfers and mobility, utilizing assistive devices as required.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with self-administration as per care plan and protocols.
- Monitor client's condition throughout the night, observe for changes, and report any concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, prepare snacks/light meals, and ensure a tidy and safe environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, observations, and any incidents.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, ensuring clients feel secure and comfortable.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, client care plans, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Personal Care Attendant, Personal Support Worker (PSW), or similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition clients safely.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
- Experience working with clients with various health conditions (e.g., dementia, mobility impairments).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
