Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by removing old plaster, filling holes, and ensuring a clean, dry, and sound base for new plasterwork.
- Apply different types of plaster (e.g., bonding, browning, finishing) to walls and ceilings using various tools and techniques.
- Skim coat surfaces to achieve a smooth, uniform, and high-quality finish, ready for painting or wallpapering.
- Install plasterboard, ensuring accurate measurements, secure fixing, and seamless joints.
- Perform plaster repairs, patching, and restoration work with precision and care.
- Work efficiently and maintain a clean and safe work environment on all sites.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
- Inspect work critically to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plasterer, demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of plastering techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of different plastering materials and their appropriate applications.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for producing flawless finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using a wide range of plastering tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working on diverse projects including heritage or specialized finishes.
- Positive references from previous employers or clients.
