Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, lubrication, and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems, including engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Complete accurate service records and documentation of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Respond to breakdown calls and perform emergency repairs on the road or in the shop.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Stay updated on new truck technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices through continuous learning.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Truck Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines (e.g., Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR).
  • Strong understanding of air brake systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic software and scan tools effectively.
  • Valid Driver's License; CDL Class A or B is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE Certification (especially in Diesel Engines, Brakes, or Drivetrain).
  • Technical degree or certification from an accredited automotive/diesel technology program.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software.
