As a Night Shift Security Officer, you will be the frontline presence, a key deterrent against unauthorized access and potential threats, ultimately ensuring the peace of mind of our clients and patrons. Your primary mission will be to deter unlawful activities, detect and report suspicious behavior, and respond effectively to security incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of assigned premises during night hours to detect and prevent unauthorized activities, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment for suspicious activity and respond appropriately to alerts.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the property.
- Write comprehensive and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, following established protocols.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, employees, and emergency services personnel.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional and authoritative demeanor.
- Complete routine inspections of property and equipment to identify and report any hazards or maintenance issues.
Required Skills
- Valid BSIS Guard Card (or equivalent state-issued security license)
- Minimum of 1 year of professional security experience (preferably in a night shift setting)
- Excellent observational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment under pressure
- Physical capability to conduct patrols, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- Prior experience in corporate security, hospitality security, or property management security
- Advanced certifications in security, such as POST or similar professional development courses
- Knowledge of local laws and ordinances pertaining to security operations
