Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, market trends, and risk factors to provide strategic recommendations.
- Prepare comprehensive actuarial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, product development, and finance, to ensure alignment on risk assessment and product strategy.
- Monitor and interpret changes in actuarial standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new products, ensuring actuarial soundness and profitability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior actuarial staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives to support business objectives and innovation.
Required Skills
- Fellow or Associate of a recognized actuarial society (e.g., FSA, FCIA, FIA, FFA, ASA, ACIA).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive actuarial experience in insurance (life, health, P&C) or financial services.
- Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., GGY AXIS, Prophet, MoSes, R).
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles, financial modeling, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with IFRS 17 implementation and reporting.
- Familiarity with Canadian insurance regulations and market practices.
- Prior experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience in risk management or capital modeling.
