Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Audio Technician to join our network of talented professionals in Yarralumla, Canberra. As an Audio Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality sound for a variety of events, productions, and installations across the ACT. Your expertise will cover everything from live event mixing and sound system setup to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, often in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle audio equipment for various events, including conferences, concerts, presentations, and installations.
- Perform sound checks and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal audio quality and clarity.
- Operate mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, and other audio processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during live events or installations.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of audio equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Collaborate with event managers, producers, and other technical staff to integrate audio seamlessly with other production elements.
- Interpret and execute audio designs and technical specifications for diverse projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients or presenters as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices for equipment handling and event production.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Audio Technician or similar role in live events, broadcast, or installation.
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and sound reinforcement principles.
- Proficiency in operating digital and analog mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer, Midas).
- Familiarity with various types of microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and audio processing units.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex audio systems and resolve issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a flexible work environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in audio engineering, sound technology, or related fields.
- Experience with AV integration and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron).
- Knowledge of audio networking protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
