Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid top-offs, and filter replacements.
- Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostic procedures and repair tasks.
- Conduct thorough multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the service bay.
- Learn to safely and effectively use various automotive tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development programs.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle status and findings.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in automotive repair.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and accessing technical information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of an automotive technology program.
- ASE Student Certification or similar industry recognition.
- Prior experience in a shop environment (e.g., school shop, quick lube, personal projects).
- Familiarity with various vehicle makes, models, and systems.
- Possession of basic hand tools relevant to automotive service.
