Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
  • Execute repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and recommend necessary services or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Adhere strictly to safety standards and procedures in the workshop.
  • Collaborate effectively with service advisors and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through continuous learning.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high-quality standards and within specified timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician, Mechanic, or similar role (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for automotive systems.
  • Proficiency with various hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle systems and components (e.g., engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Certification (or equivalent international qualification recognized in Canada).
  • ASE Certification (or international equivalent) in specific automotive areas.
  • Experience with specific vehicle brands or advanced diagnostic software.
  • Formal automotive vocational training or apprenticeship.
  • Basic proficiency in English (for non-native speakers, a commitment to improving is highly valued).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced dealership or independent repair shop environment.
