Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify faults and potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of wind turbines.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of major components, including gearboxes, generators, and blades.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies, especially when working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic software for fault analysis and performance optimization.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent service requests as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and site management to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Certified Wind Turbine Technician or equivalent technical diploma/degree.
  • Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GWO certifications (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival if applicable).
  • Experience with various turbine manufacturers and models (e.g., Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE).
  • Journeyman Electrician or Millwright certification.
  • Experience with SCADA systems.
  • Prior experience working in remote or challenging environments.
