Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify faults and potential issues.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of wind turbines.
- Execute repairs and replacements of major components, including gearboxes, generators, and blades.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies, especially when working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic software for fault analysis and performance optimization.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent service requests as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and site management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Certified Wind Turbine Technician or equivalent technical diploma/degree.
- Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- GWO certifications (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival if applicable).
- Experience with various turbine manufacturers and models (e.g., Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE).
- Journeyman Electrician or Millwright certification.
- Experience with SCADA systems.
- Prior experience working in remote or challenging environments.
