Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft and ground transportation systems.
- Operate various ground support equipment safely and efficiently, including belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts.
- Sort and transport luggage to and from aircraft, ensuring accurate destination placement.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and airport security procedures.
- Inspect baggage for proper tagging and secure handling.
- Communicate effectively with team members, flight crews, and other airport personnel to ensure coordinated operations.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Work in all weather conditions, adapting to changing operational demands and tight deadlines.
- Assist with other terminal operations as needed to maintain efficiency and service standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy baggage (up to 70 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and pushing/pulling.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7 operational environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong commitment to safety and security procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
